Swiss Airbus A321 Flight Review London Heathrow to Geneva

Flight Review: Swiss Air Economy Heathrow to Geneva

Swiss Air is without a doubt my favourite Star Alliance airline alongside Singapore Air. They just do everything right. The staff are all so lovely and friendly, the legroom is fantastic, and the snacks are tasty too!

Unfortunately I didn’t earn any Krisflyer miles from my Heathrow to Geneva flight as the cheapest fares don’t give you Krisflyer miles, but a cheap fare was more important to me than a couple of hundreds miles for this one. My general rule is to worry more about a cheap fare than a hundred or so points when travelling in Europe, and making sure I get the correct fare for the full amount of points when I travel long-haul.

After a very early start getting up at 4am to get to Heathrow to catch my flight, I was weary and looking forward to settling into my airplane seat and napping. There’s just one problem with Swiss Air – they play Looney Tunes cartoons, which makes napping very difficult when you’re being distracted by Wile E. Coyote ha!

Boarding was quick and easy from Terminal 2 at London Heathrow, which is the dedicated Star Alliance terminal. I was sat towards the front of the plane over the wing, just behind the curtained off business passengers. The legroom on Swiss Air is crazy, there’s so much of it! Even in economy you’re able to fully stretch out your legs, making it a great choice for taller people. The seats are comfy and leather (fake leather I’m pretty sure?) rather than material, which I much prefer.

Given it was such a short flight they just served drinks and snacks, the snack was some sort of baked treat, which was very tasty. All drinks were complimentary, including alcoholic drinks. Just before landing the staff handed out swiss chocolates to everyone, which I always think is a really nice little touch.

Exiting the plane didn’t take too long and before I knew it I was on the free train into Geneva’s city centre! All-in-all a very easy and enjoyable trip from Heathrow to Geneva (apart from the 4am start).
